Terms and Conditions: Accredited Mental Health & Wellbeing Course for Yacht Crew

Terms and conditions

This course is presented in the International Maritime language, which is English; therefore, students should have a good command of the written and spoken language. 

Minimum age to enroll is 18 years old. 

Materials required: Computer with MS Office or Apple similar, computer skills. A good internet connection for conducting  the Zoom call. 

Students will receive pre-course reading to run through and prepare themselves for  the course. 

Course fees are charged in Euros, to be paid by our online Stripe payment method. If paying by banktransfer, all bank charges are for the student’s account.

Registration 

Students will the complete the online registration and pay the fee of €247.00 this  will include the training slides after the course has been completed and the IAMI  GUEST Accredited certificate. 

Photo identification will be requested during the introduction of the course. 

Due to the nature of the online training, no refunds will be made once the course  material has been released. 

Course attendance and Conduct

The course will be held online via Zoom. Students will receive the link prior to the  day of the course. 

This is a group interactive course and active participation and interaction is  required by all attendees. Acceptance of personality traits or circumstances  which may affect the degree of interaction will be given. 

Minimum of two and a maximum of eight students per course.

All attendees should endeavour to be in a quiet environment, free from distractions and must have their cameras on at all times unless during break times. Students should conduct themselves appropriately and refrain from using foul language.

If a student has a valid reason to leave the course before the end, they must  message the facilitator before leaving. The course may then be taken again at a  later date, with a 50% reduction, and the certificate will only be issued once full  attendance has been completed.  

Upon completion of the course, and having fully engaged, participated and  demonstrated a good understanding of the course content, the IAMI GUEST  Accredited certificate (Unit 44) will be issued. 

Confidentiality 

We ask that you respect each other and do not interrupt when someone is speaking,  if you wish to speak, raise the hand icon on the Zoom toolbar. 

All shared stories, real life events spoken during the course must not be discussed or  disclosed, either verbally, written or on social media, outside of the course and to  third parties.  

Complaints 

Any student wishing to make a complaint must do so by completing this form as soon as the issue arises so to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, an IAMI GUEST accredited certificate will be issued. The accredited certificate will be sent electronically directly from the IAMI Certificate Issuing Platform.

Quality Policy

Every precaution has been taken into ensuring the accuracy of the content within each module. The course content is monitored and updated annually with up-to-date industry information. We strive for continuous improvement and to meet student expectations.  However, as regulations change and the super yacht industry moves forward, all students must take responsibility to keep themselves updated of all changes pertaining to their role/vessel and Flag State.

Quality Improvement Policy

Upon successful completion of the course, all students will be required to complete a Student Feedback Form. This information enables us to identify and address any quality issues and improve student learning to meet or exceed expectations. Any areas for improvement will be noted and actioned in a timely manner.

Risk Mitigation Policy

The reputation of IAMI, GUEST, and Purser Trainer is of utmost importance, so we will do everything possible to mitigate any health, safety, technology damage or issues, utilising software to protect against malware and threats and ensure full internet and electric connections as much as possible. Conditions outside the Purser Trainer’s control, such as Force Majeure, are exempt.
